Healing began with my own personal experience.
There was a time in my life when I was feeling depressed, lonely and empty inside. Conventional medicine was helping me, but I still felt that there was something deeper within me that I wanted to understand and explore. That search became the beginning of my own healing journey — a journey I am still on today, continuing to discover, understand and gently bring to light the shadows and experiences from my past that have shaped who I am.
My first real experience of this came when I attended a gay men’s circle. During the circle, we took part in a shamanic journey accompanied by the rhythm of the drum. Something about that experience deeply resonated with me — and that was where my journey truly began.
I later began having private sessions with a shamanic practitioner. Together, we started exploring and gently unfolding what was beneath the surface, while releasing what no longer served me. What surprised me was that these experiences didn’t feel like something abstract or simply an idea of an invisible energy. I could actually feel the changes and sensations within my body, while also noticing shifts in how I felt mentally and emotionally.
Experiencing this for myself made me want to understand the practice more deeply, and eventually I decided to train as a shamanic practitioner. Through my training, I also began to rediscover my connection with nature. I had always felt drawn to nature, but over the years that connection had become quieter, compressed by the pace and demands of day-to-day life.
The more I reconnected with the natural world, the more I realised how important it was for me. Being among the trees, close to water, walking, grounding myself and simply spending time outdoors became an important part of my own wellbeing. For me, nature can be one of our greatest healers — a place where we can slow down, become present and reconnect with ourselves.
After 14 years of living in Dublin, I felt drawn towards a different way of life and decided to move to the Irish countryside. Wexford was the place that called to me. Being surrounded by nature has allowed me to deepen that connection and has become an important part of both my personal journey and the way I approach my practice today.
Shamanic healing remains at the heart of my practice, but my journey has also led me to train in Rahanni Celestial Healing and sound massage and sound healing with Tibetan singing bowls. Each of these practices has become part of the way I work, while shamanic healing continues to be the foundation that most deeply connects with me.
Soul Harmony grew from these experiences and from my wish to create a calm, welcoming space where I can hold space for others as they explore their own healing journey — in a way that feels safe, personal and grounded.
I don’t believe that holistic practice needs to replace conventional care. For me, it offers another kind of space: a chance to slow down, reconnect with yourself, explore what may be happening beneath the surface, and simply take some time for yourself. In the busyness of modern life, we can so easily lose that connection. Sometimes giving ourselves permission to stop, be present and listen to ourselves can be valuable in its own right.
